SYNC.HIVE
CONCEPT
“Sync.Hive” describes the invisible role of swarm behavior and magnetoreception in nature. Although they are two independent phenomena, they often have overlapping functions and can synchronize. This synchronization is crucial for the coordination, cohesion, and survival of various organisms.
Swarm behavior coordinates the positions and movements within a group. Magnetoreception, on the other hand, serves many organisms as a means of navigation and orientation, enabled by the Earth's magnetic field.
A beehive serves as a symbol of this project. The phenomena and elements of a beehive are combined and represented in an abstract form. A swarm of organisms leaves the beehive, absorbs environmental influences, and responds to them through changes in form and state. A current debate revolves around whether human technologies, such as electromagnetic pollution from high-voltage power lines and wireless communication systems, can disrupt the natural magnetoreception of living beings.

Environment Design
Screen C - Left (Outer World)
Screen D - Right (Inside the Hive)
Screen D - Right (Inside the Hive)
The look features a futuristic and minimalistic style, combining both static and organic elements.
For the environment design, we drew inspiration from a beehive. Bees use the hexagonal shape to construct their honeycombs because it minimizes wax usage, provides a large surface area with minimal perimeter, and offers maximum stability. This construction form is also used in architecture and industry.
A beehive also provides sustainable materials such as honey and wax. It is interesting to note that we encounter this efficient and beautiful design and material in our everyday lives.
STORYBOARD BREAKDOWN
INTRO
Calm, with only slight wavelike movement on Screen C. Gentle movements of godray light beams on Screen D.
This allows the environment to be perceived as its own.

REPRESENTS THE COORDINATION AND COLLECTIVE BEHAVIOR OF A SWARM
Single elements enter the scene as individuals, moving in harmonious motion and synchronized with each other.
They come together to form a collective. An expressive shape is created, with smooth movement visible, and they are tightly bound together.
Individuals within the swarm remain distinguishable as they occasionally separate from the collective and then rejoin.

3D ILLUSION: ABSORB EXTERNAL INFLUCENCES
The swarm exits the hive from Screen C and absorbs external influences from the environment. This is visually represented by glowing particles that reflect elements from the portal.

3D ILLUSION: CONFUSION
Upon returning to the hive (Screen D), the swarm realizes something is wrong. Their behavior exhibits disorganization and disorientation.
This refers to the disturbance caused by technology affecting the swarm's magnetic sense.

DISORGANIZATION AND DISORIENTATION
The swarm experiences restless movements and rapid changes in direction. At times, they collide with each other out of confusion.

OUTRO
The swarm adjusts to the change. They calm down and come together again.
